In an effort to identify and promote emerging photographers in Sri Lanka, The Embassy of France to Sri Lanka & Maldives together with ARTRA Magazine & Daily ARTRA are organizing "My Island", an Online Photography Contest. As a part of the French Spring Festival 2021 (Jun - Oct), which is a multi-disciplinary festival fostering artistic links between France, Sri Lanka and the Maldives since 2012, "My Island" aims at providing a platform to inspire and showcase photography of aesthetic and conceptual excellence.   

Criterion

Participants, be it amateurs, students or professionals are encouraged to share their poetic perspective of their respective island. It is imperative that the submitting photographs should engage with the theme, and can be posted online (Facebook and Instagram) through the hashtag #MyIslandFSF or sent directly via the e-mail at myislandfsf@gmail.com. 

The deadline for submissions is Sunday, the 11th of July and the results will be announced Sunday, the 18th of July. 

Terms and conditions 

If published on social media:
• The photograph needs to be tagged #MyIslandFSF. Images submitted without tags may not be considered for prizes.
• The photograph needs to be published on Instagram or Facebook.
• The account needs to be public for the photography to be visible.
If sent via e-mail: Send the images on JPG or PNG format to the e-mail address myislandfsf@gmail.com. 

Any unique image from any camera is eligible to enter the contest. The competion is open to all amateur and professional photographers residing in Sri Lanka or the Maldives. Participants must be responsible for having taken the image submitted. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that all necessary permissions are obtained from any person featured in the submitted photograph/s. Copyright will remain with the participant. However, by entering this competition, the participant agrees to the French Embassy and the respective partners using submitted images for possible exhibitions, publications or promotional use. 

Jury 

The Jury will be composed of;

Aurelia Collard, Cultural Attachée, Embassy of France A representative from Publicis Sri Lanka 

The judges will factor in thematic relevance, technique, composition, originality and subject matter upon their decisions. 

Prizes 

Grand Prize for Best Photography
1 very special prize to be announced and the printing on archival matt paper and framing of your photography in 16x24'
 
2nd Prize The printing on archival matt paper and framing of your photography in 16x24' and a selected photography book.

3rd Prize The printing on archival matt paper and framing of your photography in 16x24'.  

4th and 5th Prizes The printing on archival matt paper of your photography in 16x24'.  

ARTRA Magazines will also be gifted to the winners
