Hanefi Yeter was born in Bayburt in 1947. He started his education in the Workshop of Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu of the State Academy of Fine Arts in 1967 and studied in Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu’s Private Workshop during his training. In 1970, he earned the right to receive art training in Paris, 'Academie des Beaux Arts', because of some personal reasons he couldn’t finished that education and turned back to Istanbul. He completed his education at the Academy and graduated from there in 1972. In 1973 he passed the State Scholarship Examination and started his postgraduate studies in Berlin, the Fine Arts Academy, and graduated in 1978.

He has had over 90 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad in Vienna, Paris, Brussels, Manchester City and various cities in Germany. He became the first Turkish-born who opened a personal exhibition in East Germany. In that exhibition his catalogue was published with special permissions. His works can be seen in national and international museums and private collections. He performed 5 murals, 2 ceramic facades, 2 mosaic panels, 1 sculpture in Berlin and 3 murals in the city Darmstadt. Since 2006, he has been performing up to 100 sculptures and reliefs in the malls Forum Mersin, Aydin, Denizli, Trabzon, Ankara, Bursa, Istanbul, Antalya, Tarsus and Nevşehir. Currently, Yeter continues to work in Istanbul and Bodrum.

Hanefi Yeter's solo exhibition titled 'Vesile' features works of the artist's various compositions, sculptures, drawings and ceramic works that he has recently produced. Hanefi Yeter has built his exhibition around the concepts of nature and human relations, reflecting both the blessings and beauties that nature provides and the agonizing consequences of humankind’s attitude towards nature. While the artist’s goal is to raise awareness and sensitivity, he considers his art to be a part of the change.

The artist states that, in his previous production processes, he had the opportunity to communicate with the outer world more frequently. However, in his recent works from the past three years, Hanefi Yeter uses his unique perspective and way of expression to reflect the changes and developments experienced in a time of alienation and fear. Inspired by the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates’ dictum “The unexamined life is not worth living”, one of the highlights of the exhibition is a collection of pottery hand-picked and painted by the artist from the Ayvalık region in Turkey. 'Vesile' showcases ceramic works that the artist has been passionately working on for some time. Spanning two floors of Anna Laudel Istanbul, Hanefi Yeter’s solo exhibition 'Vesile' is currently on display at Anna Laudel Istanbul until the 11th February.
